Elementary Music
Each elementary school in the district has a dedicated full-time music specialist who is a licensed music educator. K-5 students are actively singing, playing instruments, improvising and composing, and demonstrating expression through movement. Students will gradually develop the ability to read music and use proper musical notation, analyze and describe music, listen and skillfully evaluate musical performances, and understand music’s relation to history, culture, and other disciplines. Dance Resources
Parley’s Park Elementary School is proud to have a Beverley Talyor Sorenson Arts Learning Program Dance Instructor, Melissa Gonzales. Dance at PPES is also sponsored by the Park City Education Foundation. Parley’s Park has been having so much fun in dance this year! We’ve had parents come into class to read and film prototypes. The first grade also did a interactive class and performance for the preschoolers. And last but not least, the 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades have a special treat to learn from Guest Artist’s Bashaun and Mary Lyn, professional dancers from Ririe-Woodbury! They did a 6-day residency here at Parley’s and the kids loved learning from the professionals. Thanks for taking a look!
Park City High School’s Dance classes are taught by Ashley Mott. Click here for information on Dance I, II, III, Jr. Dance Company, and Dance Company.
