Founded May 17, 1915, Park City School District is nestled in the mountains of the year-round resort town of Park City, Utah. The district’s mission is to empower students to develop their knowledge, skills, and potential as critical thinkers. We maximize resources for academic rigor and excellence through staff, programs, and technology that make learning relevant in an emerging world.

PCSD is home to four elementary schools: Jeremy Ranch, McPolin, Parley’s Park, and Trailside (preschool to grade 5); Ecker Hill Middle School (grades 6-7); Treasure Mountain Junior High (grades 8-9); and Park City High School (grades 10-12).

Nearly 5,000 students attend Park City schools, including 20% Latinos, 8% English Language Learners, 7% with disabilities, and 22% free or reduced lunch.

•  The recipient for the third year of the  Meritorious Budget Award (MBA). This award reflects the District’s commitment to sound fiscal management and budgetary policies.
•  Students consistently outperform state averages in standardized testing, AP test pass rates, and ACT scores.
•  Ranked in the top 3 Best School Districts in Utah by Niche in its 2021 rankings.
• A 93% graduation rate — more than 5% higher than the state average.
• The Class of 2021 has students accepted to such prestigious universities as  Auburn, Baylor, Cal Poly, Cornell, Dartmouth, Georgetown, Loyola Marymount, Pepperdine, Stanford, UCLA, Vanderbilt, Villanova, and Washington & Lee.
• Park City School District has had 1:1 technology for over a decade.
•  Successful and rigorous dual language immersion programs in Spanish and French (grades 1-9).
• The Board of Education received the Master Board Award in 2020 from the Utah School Board Association.
• PCSD was named an Apple Distinguished Program for 2014-16 for implementation of its “one-to-one” initiative that supplies students (grades 2-12) with laptops to use in the classroom and to take home.
• Park City Center for Advanced Professional Studies (PCCAPS) offers courses in digital design, business strategy, engineering, software development, and teacher education. Instructors develop real-world, project-based learning strategies through collaboration with business and community partners.
• An active partner in the annual Sundance Film Festival held each January. The Sundance Institute, founded by Robert Redford, offers Filmmakers in the Classroom Program. Each year Sundance offers students the opportunity to celebrate the art of cinematic storytelling. In addition, students view short films and have opportunities to interact with both emerging and established filmmakers from around the globe.
• The Park City Education Foundation raises $1.5 million a year to fund 100 programs in PCSD schools.

• The Newsroom has been honored by the National School Public Relations Association with a 2019 Golden Achievement Award.
