The Security Department strives to create a safe learning environment for students and staff. Deploying sophisticated electronic, physical, and procedural security protocols, the department operates under an integrated security plan that coordinates the protective services of local, state, and federal agencies.

Understanding that the physical threat to schools often comes from internal sources, the department embraces Internal Threat Assessment ideology, hoping to meet the needs of troubled students before they result in a violent act. The district’s Safe Schools Coalition also ensures the uniform and effective application of the district’s  Safe School Policy and supports restorative justice goals for students.
