Utah Governor Visits Park City High School

PCHS Students talk with Governor COx

On April 19th, 2023, the Governor of Utah, Spencer Cox, paid a visit to Park City High School. The Governor's visit was aimed at interacting with the students and understanding their concerns.

The visit started with the Governor being treated to a delicious lunch prepared by students of the ProStart Culinary Arts Career and Technical Education Pathway. The ProStart program is designed to provide high school students with the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in the restaurant and food service industry. The students also recently placed 4th in a state competition. Governor Cox was overheard saying, “I would have licked the plate, but that wouldn’t have been appropriate.”

Following lunch, the Governor proceeded to the Eccles Theater, where he interacted with the student body. Five students were given the opportunity to ask the Governor questions about his policies and his vision for the state of Utah. The students were well-prepared and asked insightful questions, which the Governor answered in detail.

The Governor's visit was an excellent opportunity for the students to interact with a political leader and to have their voices heard.

"Thanks to Park City High School for the warm welcome and great conversations,” said Cox. “After meeting with students throughout our state, I know Utah’s future is in good hands.”
