National Junior Honor Society at EHMS

NJHS is an organization that encourages and recognizes academic achievement while developing other essential characteristics. The ideals of scholarship, service, leadership, and character are important as we prepare future leaders for our global society. 6th and 7th graders are both invited to participate.

Membership is an honor and commitment. Students will apply for membership and will be admitted after demonstrating the four ideals. Students will be given opportunities to serve their community and engage in activities that will support them in their quest to become members.

 We will meet at least once a month throughout the year, offering group, school-based service projects. Students will be required to complete 10 hours of service prior to May. All 10 hours may be earned through school-based projects or a combination of school-based and outside activities. Students must maintain at least a 3 average in all academic AND 3 R standards. 

Applications will be available in the counselor’s office beginning October 3rd. An informational meeting for all students will be held during both lunches on Tuesday, November 1 in the desert area (in front of the auditorium). Applications will be due on Tuesday, November 1st and should be brought to the lunch meeting along with your Quarter 1 report card.

Current 7th graders who were inducted last year will be given an, “Intent to Continue NJHS” form to fill out and return but do not need to reapply.

Sociedad Nacional de Honor Junior en el EHMS

La SNHJ es una organización que fomenta y reconoce los logros académicos mientras desarrolla otras características esenciales. Los ideales de servicio, liderazgo y carácter son importantes mientras preparamos a los futuros líderes para nuestra sociedad global. Los alumnos de 6º y 7º grado están invitados a participar.

Ser miembro es un honor y un compromiso. Los estudiantes solicitarán la afiliación y serán admitidos después de demostrar los cuatro ideales. Los estudiantes tendrán la oportunidad de servir a su comunidad y participar en actividades que los apoyarán en su búsqueda de convertirse en miembros.

 Nos reuniremos al menos una vez al mes a lo largo del año y ofreceremos proyectos de servicio en grupo, basados en la escuela. Los estudiantes deberán completar 10 horas de servicio antes de mayo. Las 10 horas pueden obtenerse a través de proyectos escolares o una combinación de actividades escolares y externas. Los estudiantes deben mantener al menos un promedio de 3 en todos los estándares académicos Y en las 3 reglas de Responsabilidad, Respeto y estar Preparado.

Las solicitudes estarán disponibles en la oficina del consejero a partir del 1 de octubre. Una reunión informativa para todos los estudiantes se llevará a cabo durante ambos almuerzos el jueves 21 de octubre en el área del desierto (frente al auditorio).

Las solicitudes deberán ser entregadas el 21 de octubre y deberán ser llevadas a la reunión del almuerzo.

Los estudiantes actuales de 7º grado que fueron seleccionados el año pasado se les dará un formulario de “intención de continuar SNHJ” para completar y regresarlo dirmado, pero no es necesario volver a aplicar.
